Los Amigos Foundation - Supporting the Legacy of Fr. Jack and Sr. Peggy
The Los Amigos Foundation, a 501c3 organization, was established in 2008 to provide a venue to raise funds for long-term needs in Chimbote.
As mission leaders, Fr. Jack Davis and Sr. Peggy Byrne have spent over 30 years building programs that help the poor in Chimbote. It is the goal of the Los Amigos Foundation to continue funding those programs, even after Fr. Jack and Sr. Peggy have left.
This multi-year effort involves a legacy campaign to raise funds for an endowment (where money is invested, and only the earnings on the investment are used for programs and services). An endowment allows donations to have a greater impact over a longer period of time.
Members of the board come from all parts of the United States and Peru. Each has visited Chimbote and commits time, energy, and money to Los Amigos programs and services. None receive any compensation. For more information, contact Los Amigos Executive Director, Susan Trnka, at (701) 540-7242.
