Economic Development Board

As a committee of Los Amigos, the Economic Development Council works diligently to nurture independence for the poor of Chimbote through economic opportunity.  To This man is employed as a charger—a deliveryman—and is bringing crops to market.ensure that economic development programs in Chimbote are operated according to Peruvian law, a separate Peruvian non-governmental organization was established for the Economic Development Council. Programs are operated according to Peruvian law and under the direction of Los Amigos. Guided by Christian principles, the Economic Development Council seeks to:

  • Nurture small business, employment, scholarship, mentoring and training opportunities.
  • Transform individuals into independent and self-sustaining members of their community.
