These barrios together span the land that is often referred to as area for “the poorest of the poor.” Many of the estimated 35,000 people residing in the barrios are homelessand/or lack jobs, appropriate clothing, and the opportunity for education. In conjunction with Los Amigos, Fr. Jack, Padre Vasquez, and Sr. Peggy are able to minister to the poor not only through the traditional methods of Mass and holy sacraments but also through programs and services that meet basic human needs.
