Volunteer in Chimbote
Over the years, hundreds of volunteers have committed their time and skills to serving the poor in Chimbote. They have built homes, tutored students, served the sick, assisted Fr. Jack and Sr. Peggy in managing programs, cared for children in the day care centers, and performed many other essential activities.
Volunteers in Chimbote answer the call for specific needs within the parish because they have the time, experience, and skills to serve. Volunteer Aide
Each year, the mission hosts an average of five long-term volunteers who stay for a minimum of three months to provide support in the tutoring programs, daycares, youth centers, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. This position reports to Fr. Jack Davis and Sr. Peggy Byrne. Ideally, volunteer aides are conversant in Spanish prior to arriving in Chimbote.

Long-term Volunteer Coordinator
The long-term volunteer coordinator generally serves a one-year term and may serve more than one term. Duties include:
This position reports to Los Amigos’ executive director. Long-term volunteer coordinators must be fluent in Spanish and must have previously visited Chimbote. Long-term volunteer coordinators often serve a three-month term as a volunteer aide prior to taking on this position.
